Electrical engineers need to understand their engineering principles, but sometimes they need help with some basic engineering concepts, too.
For instance, if a student needs to understand the ins and outs of an electric system, they’ll need to have an understanding of how a generator works.
If they need a basic understanding of a transmission line, they might need to learn about the wiring, as well.
In addition, electrical engineering majors need to work through basic concepts and apply them to real-world projects, said Steve Houser, director of the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Georgia.
It is a challenging but rewarding discipline, he said.
But electrical engineers don’t always need a solid grounding in electrical engineering.
Some people have trouble grasping the concepts, or even the concepts themselves, he explained.
If you’re trying to learn how to build a power plant or a transformer, for example, you might want to consider other fields, like civil engineering.
In this case, you’re not going to be building a new power plant, Housestar said.
But you’ll need the skills you learned in electrical and computer engineering to apply the ideas to a real-life project.
So how do you know when you need to become an electrical engineer?
Well, there are a few key things to consider.
First, the type of engineering students want to do.
Most students want their careers in electrical technology to be in the power industry, said Steven D. Dube, associate dean for graduate studies in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the College.
So, it’s important that you have the experience that you need.
Second, the course you’re going to take.
The courses you take in electrical science, engineering technology, computer science and the like should be tailored to your goals.
This is especially true if you want to pursue a career in the private sector.
Third, the kind of course you want.
If a course is primarily focused on electrical engineering, it may be the best course to take, but if you’re interested in learning about other topics, it might be a good idea to take a course that is focused on another discipline, such as civil engineering, Dube said.
Fourth, the student who is interested in electrical design.
If students are interested in the engineering of systems, then the best way to learn electrical design is through hands-on learning.
In that sense, it can be a very valuable course.
But the key is to understand how the technology works and the challenges it faces, Dueb said.
